Overview
Here at J.P. Mascaro & Sons we are committed to spreading the message of respect. Respect is a core value that our company was built on and continues to model today. Whether people, property or the planet Earth, everyone and everything deserves respect. It is never too early to learn about respect!

Goal:
“promote strong character and citizenship among our nation’s youth”. Character Education plays an important role in education and respect is recognized as a core ethical value in the learning process. As a member of the community, J.P. Mascaro and Sons takes seriously its role in supporting positive character development. Therefore, offered along with our free school-based educational program called THE RESPECT PROGRAM will be the opportunity to apply for The Respect Program Education Grant.

Objective:
The Respect Program Education Grant is offered to give schools the opportunity to continue to implement educational activities that promote respect for people, property and the environment. The Respect Program Education Grant will challenge teachers to creatively implement an activity or program that emphasizes respect and will help to provide teachers with the necessary resources for implementation.

Grant Criteria:
J.P. Mascaro and Sons will award The Respect Program Education Grant to selected educators in elementary schools who host a presentation of THE RESPECT PROGRAM and develop a follow-up lesson plan to emphasize one or more of the following:

Respect for people.
Respect for property.
Respect for the environment.

Available Grant Funding:
Maximum Award: Up to $2,500
Number of Awards: Two or more

Eligibility:
In order to apply for The Respect Program Grant you must be an educator of children in the second through fifth grades in a school that has hosted a presentation of The Respect Program (see attached brochure) during the school year*. Presentations are available in the Pennsylvania counties of Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Philadelphia and Schuylkill.

Application Process:
Grant applications are reviewed upon receipt. You will be notified once your complete application is received. You will have 15 days to submit any missing materials upon notification.

Application Requirements:
• Cover letter including a brief introduction of your school, its mission, purpose for requesting grant and explanation of why your program should be chosen.
• Completed RESPECT PROGRAM Evaluation Form.
• Completed Application Form.
• Detailed Lesson Plan (see attached outline).
• Budget including the amount you are requesting and a detailed outline of how monies will be spent. Include other sources of funding if applicable.

Award Fulfillment:
Grants are due March 1.
